8 Nov 1847: Bram Stoker (born Abraham Stoker) was born in Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland. In 1878 he moved to London taking a position as manager of the famed Lyceum Theatre in Westminster.
It was only then that Stoker really put pen to paper, eventually publishing his masterpiece "Dracula" in 1897. Stoker left his mark on Dublin, just as he did the rest of the world.
Visit his birthplace (15 Marino Crescent, Dublin 3) his alma mater, Trinity College Dublin (Dublin 2), Dublin Castle (Dame Street, Dubin 2) where he served as Petty Sessions Inspector or St. Michan's Church (Church Street, Arran Quay, Dublin 7) where it is said he took inspiration from the ancient and unnerving crypt dating back to 1095.
